CBLoader and Windows 10?

Anyone have any experience with it? I just bought a new laptop with Windows 10 installed. Has anyone gotten the chance to install the old builder and CBLoader on 10 yet? Any complications or issues?

I have had no issues running either CBLoader or Adventure tools on Windows 10. I did install CBLoader when I was on Windows 8.1 then upgraded to Windows 10, but everything worked. Adventure tools after up on Windows 10.
You do need to make sure that .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5 are installed. They are not by default in Windows 10. You have to go to "Turn Windows features on or off", find the .Net framework and check them. A quick internet search should lead you to detailed directions. It's fairly easy.

I have a friend who fiddled with Win10 and CBloader. I think he got it working and it had to do with the .NET framework. I can ask him if you don't get the issue resolved.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try installing the character builder and CBLoader in a bit, then I'll let you know how it goes.

Now trying to install cbloader on a different machine... had a nasty crash and Iam getting this error

wonder if there is a way for someone on a working character builder to generate the keyfile

If I knew how to do that I'd be glad to help out. But I've no idea about keyfiles and that sort of thing. If you can give me details of how to generate such a thing....

basically you add parameter on your link to cbloader
open the properties of your link
add a -r cbloader.keyfile

the path will have quotes around it the parameters go outside of the quotes

click on the link will then create the file cbloader.keyfile in your character builder directory

you might need to make sure the directory has write permissions...

Not entirely sure this will work....

The CBloader when it starts up makes four files in the directory which for me is at

C:\Users\lance\AppData\Roaming\CBLoader

Perhaps if I had atleast the one combined.dnd40.main
that might get it started as well..

that is created once then is only loaded later

I think once the first 3 are generated they do not rebuild...
combined.dnd40.main, combined.dnd40.part, combined.dnd40, cbloader.merged

No luck with this. At least not on my laptop. I can try on my work computer tomorrow and see if it works there.

I don't remember what it said. I'm going to try to see if I can get this on my work computer today when I get a moment. I got meetings this morning and half of my team is out of town on a job, so I gotta cover for them.

Also, I'm running Win7. Do you think that will make a difference?

change the directory read right permissions

its probably read only, right click get properties uncheck read only and apply

I unchecked the read only and still got the same error.

Okay, it seems to have generated a file called cbloader.keyfile. Where can I send/store it for your retrieval?

Its actually a small XML file you could post the contents here if you liked (open with text editor cut and paste)
