Any news on Nerath

With Wizards effectively killing off Nerath in 2011, does anyone know of any good fan based sites for Nerath.

Has anyone worked on expanding Nerath?


I think Nerath had more potential that other Wizards game worlds as it seems to be a world built for running DnD campaigns.

It is a pity Wizards does not release what material they did have on the Gazetteer they cancelled in 2011 or given it over to another company to develop.

There's a regional map that was released as part of the "Conquest of Nerath" board game, but the Gazetteer was going to be more Nentir Vale material.

Indeed, the official 4E setting really could more accurately be called "The Nentir Vale" rather than "Nerath" in the same way that people refer to the Forgotten Realms setting as "Faerun" when that's just the name of the subcontinent and the actual world is "Abeir-Toril".

As for the setting, I'd recommend the "Worlds & Monsters" and "Races & Classes" preview books for a LOT of the background on stuff (though its nowhere near as polished as it would end up being, it shows off why they made a lot of the choices they did on things).

It has not been update in a while and is kinda broken still from when they changed their site, but you can still did some stuff up.  There used to have links of all the magazine articles had to do with Nerath and the Nentir Vale.  Also MV: Threats to the Nentir Vale has lots of fluff, some of it going back to Nerath and before.  The Gravelstones, the Fell Court, Dythan's Legion etc.
