| I do character art for pretty much everyone in my campaigns (PC's and NPC's). Indeed, the artwork from my Essentials Options article (see the 4E general discussion thread) were almost entirely characters from various campaigns over the years. | |

| I have about as much drawing talent as a soap dish, so I don't draw any thing. But I love to see what others draw. I especially like art that shows new and innovative stuff. I can appreciate artistic talent for sure, but it's nice to see something other than the "supremely muscled barbarian in hide armor" or the "overtly sensual drow in skimpy clothing". I really like to see new and different stuff. | |

| I, ah, have a few of these. Here's a few(?) pieces - I'll try not to go overboard ^^; Spoiler tags on all, to keep things compact, but a couple of them are NSFW, so please take note before you expand! - Here's a few vaguely recent characters:
Taj, prince of a Darksun-esque desert nation who went into self-imposed exile, having killed his father when he discovered his plan to use the ancestral magic in their blood to sacrifice the entire country. Despite his blatant treason, he had a huge "rightful heir" complex, and fully intended to take everything back one day despite having seen the worst of what ancestral magic and hereditary power implied. That balance of arrogance and sincerity was tons of fun to play (very "Prince Zuko"). Tesselae, the sneaky changeling who was one of my last 3.5e characters. Tess was raised among humans, so didn't realise he was a changeling until he started changing reflexively during his teens (D&D X-Men, lol :p). That led to him being scared to death of his powers and constantly seeking protection, and that led to him spending the early game under the villain's thumb, reporting on his fellow party members as a double-agent. I'd never played a character who spent whole sessions lying through his teeth, and it was pretty fun! Unfortunately, players moved away and the game ended just as the group was starting to catch on. PCs from a super adorable, rules-lught storytelling RPG, Golden Sky Stories. It's designed to be played in a very Studio-Ghibli Japan, but our GM loved rural Colorado, so we had a much more North American bent. The waddly little wolverine there is my PC, Gulo; the others are Doran the dadhawk (he was a bit more grownup than the rest of us :p) and Ford the hyperactive corgi. Characters from my most beloved of MMORPGs, City of Heroes. It's been on my mind, since the anniversary of its undeserved closing was last week, so here are two of my favourite characters from there - counterparts Soubrette (hedonistc, self-interested shapeshifting egomaniac) and Honeytrap (hedonistic, shapeshifing heroic superspy team-mum). This being me, of course, they are both dudes.
- Chibi party members from our longest-running 3.5 campaign.:
Glory By Reluctance was my partner's first D&D game, loosely inspired by the Quest for Glory video games, and ran for like ten years (albeit with some large breaks). L-R Talemnar (silver-loving elf barbarian bodyguard), Sidhe Smith (half-elf Adherent (homebrew inclusive paladin) battlemum), Aneurin (earnest orphaned human fighter Hero boy), Valen (nerdy elven alchemist and agent of ultimate destiny) and Talic (late addition party druid, who theoretically had a human form but really he was just "the bear"). Sidhe's pocket also contains Caer (her sweet, innocent half-fiendish cohort) and Ubu (her pet krenshar). Sidhe was my character, of course. (Protip for these illustrations: In a group, my character is either the blokiest lady or the girliest boy :p) Aneurin and his Karmic Twin Ariannaka, a vaguely feral swordmonk who essentially "claimed" him during the game.
- Homebrew race concepts!:
The wu-kan are a homebrew race of vaguely divine, kung-fu monkey people with an insatiable curiosity and a racial inability to comprehend fear. Goodness, I wonder what they were inspired by? :p A character who happened when a horse was magically transformed into a human, who later became the inspiration for another homebrew race, the Equitarn. Stoic giants originally bred for slave labour, they're similar in concept space to the Mul from Darksun, but mechanically quite different.
- Assorted NPCs:
Heron, an elven actor the party picked up as a cohort. He confuses many players :p - NSFW! No nudity, but suggestive half-naked elf boys all up ins.:
Heron the saucy elven actor, with a couple of other NPCs of similarly pointy-eared races - Silk, the overly serious eladrin noble, and Crow, the drow assassin.
- Other peoples' PCs:
...Mostly my partner's ^^; Skri, noble monster and purpose-built tank. He's actually a mad-science hybrid of a Hylian and a Goron, but that gets simplified to a "half golem" in less fanboyish circles :p Karasu, one of four PCs from the first game I ran - a re-fluffed Psionics + Book-of-Nine-Swords 3.5e D&D hack to make a Bleach game. Everybody is death gods with funky magic swords; Karasu's sword, Tsurankenbatsu, gave him a bunch of personal powerups in exchange for his sight (and his shirt, apparently :p).
- NSFW for Big Green Orc Boobs (no, seriously!):
Bragha Bonescar. I don't play a lot of WoW, but when I do, I redraw my characters with bigger muscles (because screw Warcraft's ridiculous sex dimorphism >:\) I really love larger-than-life warrior women <XD
- Character concepts for a current game in progress:
- MORE Character concepts for a current game in progress:
For a video game, not a tabletop game, but still "my characters" :p This one is an industrialisation-era turn-based strategy RPG, a la Fire Emblem but with less magic and dragons and more alchemy and railguns. Decker, drunken lout pirate captain Cordell, economic genius and gentleman swashbuckler Branagh, big dumb barbarian chief Isolde, elegant lady-of-war barbarian chief Mason, earnest young cavalryman Carmine, lady alchemist (with "spell cannon" I haven't designed properly yet)

| Yeah, those are pretty classic race/class combos. The art looks good - the Eladrin paladin especially - she's actually rather attractive. | |
